Digital Legal Studies (DLS) is an innovative platform that bridges legal scholarship with digital technologies. Focused on empirical and computational approaches, DLS explores how digital tools can transform legal research, practice, and education.

Founded and coordinated by Aise Gül Akkoyun, a PhD candidate at the University of Zurich, the platform reflects her interdisciplinary expertise in law and technology. DLS brings together digital projects, tools, publications, events, and collaborations to foster an interactive and cross-disciplinary network for digital legal studies.

We welcome contributions and suggestions from all who reimagine law through digital methods.

What we want to achieve

At Digital Legal Studies, we aim to explore how digital tools can transform legal research — not just by making it more efficient but by enabling new ways of thinking about law.

We build bridges between law and data science, using methods like NLP, data visualization, and machine learning to uncover patterns, raise new questions, and develop open legal knowledge.

Our goal is to create an international, interdisciplinary team — from professors to early-career researchers — working together to shape the future of legal studies.
